| In a highschool
sketchbook, was merged the mythical unicorn with a tiger... thus creating
an amalgam that represents two natures: Idealistic Fantasy and Fierce Reality -tigrikorn.
He treads the line between competing worlds and ideals; a bit of
a misfit, his adventures are chronicled here.
The student work for this issue is from the Fall 2 2003 Cartooning Classes at Kaleidoscope School of Art in Barrington IL (4th-5th grade and JrHi thru High School). NEW: The TigriKorn comix 'zine this month features the first-ever limited color comics INSIDE (on pages 5 and 20). The wonders of cheaper printing technology makes this possible. Someday the whole zine will be color! Okay...maybe not for a while.
Since most of my students enjoy having a printed zine more than a web version, I'll continue to print limited number of new zines when possible. Although I personally prefer the web version. Make sure you check out the Tigrikorn stuff you can order online: T-shirts, Lunch boxes, etc. Proceeds from orders go to the Art School Scholarship fund. If
you have any questions or comments about this zine or Kaleidoscope School
of Art, please don't hesitate to contact me. Doug
